                                    Punjab Government to Merge PHATA and PLDC

Aslam Iqbal, the Punjab Minister, presided over the meeting at 90-Shara-e-Quad-e-Azam and announced that Punjab Land Development Company (PLDC) would cease operations after merging with Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA).

A report on PLDC activities was presented by Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shakil Ahmad at this meeting. While the meeting was presided over by the Director General of PHATA and other representatives.

As part of his claim, the senior minister said that land earmarked for PLDC projects would be used for building homes, and he also promised to defend the rights of people who had invested in PLDC for the purpose of buying homes.

The provincial administration considers providing shelter for those who need it a top priority and will come up with a novel solution within a week, said Mian Aslam.

PHATA and other divisions would benefit from the use of the land and personnel of Punjab Land Development Company, he said. Punjab Land Development Company would be closed without making anyone lose jobs, and he asked for a business strategy to use its land and employees in PHATA and other departments.
